Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are one of the most versatile restorations that we offer here in our Los Gatos office. With crowns, it’s not a question of what they can do, but rather, what they can’t do. They’re essentially small, tooth-shaped caps that are placed on top of natural teeth in order to protect and fortify them. They’re often used following root canal treatment, and they can even be used to fully replace a lost tooth in some cases.
The crowns we offer are made from durable materials including EMAX, zirconia, porcelain, and occasionally gold, and they can easily be made to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your natural smile.
CEREC® Same-Day Dental Crowns & Restorations
In the past, the process for receiving a dental crown or another type of restoration was far from quick or easy – it involved gooey, foul-tasting impression materials, a separate lab with dental technicians, and a great deal of time and labor on your dentist’s part.
Luckily, modern technology makes things infinitely easier! We’re thrilled to offer CEREC same-day dental crowns and restorations here at our Los Gatos office. Our CEREC machine allows us to plan out, fabricate, and place dental crowns all on the very same day as your appointment. Better yet, these crowns are just as durable, reliable, and beautiful as ones made using the traditional method.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
The go-to method for addressing cavities is filling the tooth after treating the decayed portion. This used to involve a silver-colored material called metal amalgam – and as you probably know, these old-school fillings very obviously stand out from the rest of the natural teeth.
We are proud to offer a new standard of care for dealing with cavities: tooth-colored fillings that blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile. These aren’t just for show, though; they are also impressively durable and can provide lasting protection from cavities and decay. They can typically be placed during a single visit.
