Dental technology isn’t just about convenience; it’s a necessity for ensuring that we’re able to provide quick, efficient, and positively life-changing care. That’s why we’ve outfitted our office with state-of-the-art equipment and instruments. We want you to truly experience the best that modern dentistry has to offer in a comfortable and compassionate manner.

To learn more about some of the equipment that Dr. Herrera and our team in Los Gatos can use to ensure optimal dental health, read on below!

Digital Impressions

In the past, taking impressions to create restorations and other types of dental solutions was not exactly an easy process. It involved foul-tasting, gooey impression material, multiple lengthy appointments, and often, a great deal of effort on your dentist’s part.

Here at our practice, we are thrilled to offer digital impressions using our iTero system, which makes things infinitely easier and faster for all parties involved! This non-invasive technology gives us the means to create a digital map of your smile, which can be manipulated as needed so that your custom-made restoration looks and feels remarkably lifelike.

Soft Tissue Laser

When it comes to modern dentistry, there are few tools as impactful as the soft tissue laser. In the past, many types of dental procedures, especially those involving the gums, included reshaping or otherwise treating damaged or infected tissue – which often meant using a scalpel. Needless to say, this is something that many patients immediately feel anxious about.

Our Biolase soft tissue laser is capable of treating a wide range of issues with relative ease and incredible precision. Using it, Dr. Herrera can minimize bleeding, swelling, and other common post-op symptoms. The laser can even encourage the growth of healthy tissue in the affected area, leading to a much smoother recovery period.

3D Printer

These days, 3D printing is becoming more popular and more useful – and we are so thrilled to have access to this exciting, innovative technology here in our Los Gatos office! Dr. Herrera and our team can use our in-house 3D printer to plan out and create all kinds of dental devices, including nightguards, surgical guides, wax-up models, custom-made restorations, and more. In the end, this doesn’t just save everyone a great deal of time, effort, and money – this technology also ensures that nothing is lost in terms of quality.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

When it comes to dentistry, the impact that 3D imaging technology has cannot be understated. To put it simply, tools like our CT/cone beam scanner make it infinitely easier to look inside your mouth at various oral structures, see what issues might be present, and begin planning out personalized treatment.

The device has a special arm that rotates around your head, and it can quickly and noninvasively scan the entire craniofacial region in a single go. It renders a 3D representation of your teeth, gums, tongue, and other orofacial structures, and then projects everything onto a digital screen for viewing.
